How do I regenerate the thumbnails of multiple images?Regenerate Thumbnails

Multiple Images Method 1: Go to media section and make sure you’re on the list view. Select the images you want to regenerate, then go to the drop-down menu that starts with ‘Bulk Actions’ and change this to ‘Regenerate Thumbnails’ and click on ‘Apply’.

Multiple Images Method 2: Go to media section and make sure you’re on the  grid view. Click on the ‘Bulk Select’ button and click on the images you want to regenerate, then click on the the ‘Regenerate Thumbnails’ button.

All Images: Click on Regenerate Thumbnails in the admin menu, under Jixxio Media MGT and then click on the ‘Regenerate All Thumbnails’ button.

Method 1: Go to media section and make sure you’re on the  list view. Hover an image and click ‘Regenerate Thumbnails’.

Method 2: Go to media section and make sure you’re on the grid view. Click on an image to open it and then click on the button next to ‘Regenerate Thumbnails’.

Click on Regenerate Thumbnails in the admin menu, under Jixxio Media MGT and then click on the ‘Regenerate All Thumbnails’ button.

How can I create a new Media Category?Media Categories

Creating Categories: It works the same as Blog posts categories! Under ‘Media’ select Categories to create your desired categories. Pick a name and optionally a slug, parent category and a description and then click on ‘Add New Category’.

How do I add categories to my images?Media Categories

Adding Categories to a File Method 1: Once you have created a category go to media section list view and go to the file’s edit page, then select one or more categories on the right hand side.

Adding Categories to a File Method 2: Alternatively go to the media section grid view and select a media file and enter a category title in the corresponding field. You can also quickly create new categories this way! (To enter multiple categories, separate them with a comma).

How can I filter my images by category?Media Categories

Method 1: Go to media section and make sure you’re on the list view. Click at the top of  the page on the drop down menu ‘View all categories’ and select the category you want. Finally click the ‘filter’ button to filter your media.

Method 2: Go to media section and make sure you’re on the  grid view. Click at the top of  the page on the drop down menu ‘All Categories’  and select the category you want. Your media will automatically be filtered.

How do I automatically optimize images on upload?Optimize on Upload

Go to the Resize on Upload section. Here you can specify what happens to all your images when they are uploaded.

Width and Height: Resizes the image file to your desired pixel format, without stretching or leaving a blank space.

Crop: Selecting the crop option will cut out an area of your image, from the middle, to the size of your selected width and height.

Quality: Determines the quality of the image. The field accepts a range from 0 to 100, with 0 being ‘lowest quality’, and 100 being ‘best quality’.*

*Higher quality means better looking images but also bigger file sizes (and potentially slower performance). Recommended for this field is 80.

How do I replace an image?One-click Image Replace

Go to the Media section, hover over the image you want to replace and click ‘edit’. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the ‘Choose File’ button next to ‘Replace Image’. Choose the image with which you want to replace the image. Once selected, click the update button to apply the changes.

WARNING: There is no going back! Once replaced, the old image will be deleted. If you want to keep the old image for later use you should save it to your computer before replacing it.

NOTE 1: The image needs to be of the same type as the original.

NOTE 2: After replacing you may see the old image still on your screen. This is due to your browser cache. To clear your cache for this page, do a forced refresh, press Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) for modern browsers or Ctrl+F5 if you are using Internet Explorer. If this does not work, click here to learn how to clear your cache.

How do I add my own image sizes?Add Image Sizes

Step 1. Go to Register Image Sizes. You will see an overview of the registered image sizes and you can also create your own custom image sizes here.

Image Size Name: Enter a unique name*

Width and Height: Resizes the image file to your desired pixel format, without stretching or leaving a blank space.

Crop: Selecting the crop option will cut out an area of your image, from the middle, to the size of your selected width and height.

Step 2: Click Save Changes to register the image size.

Step 3: IMPORTANT: After creating an image size, you MUST run Regenerate Thumbnails.

*NOTE: No spaces or special characters allowed. Only letters, numbers, minus signs and underscores. Always check the name in the table before using it to avoid confusions.

How do I use my new image sizes?Add Image Sizes

To use the new image size, enter the name as you would with one of the standard sizes like thumbnail, medium or full in your preferred page editor.
